I first met John about 3 years ago, I started late to the BMX scene, but my Dad and brother have been involved many years. Dad had mentioned John in various stories over the years, so to meet him was an honour. He spoke so highly of my Dad, Bill Baggs and the fun they had "back in the day"! He gave great advice to my son Cameron, who had recently started out and watched him progress. If he didn't make a race then he would always comment on Facebook and give praise and encouragement. He used to send me personal messages asking how my Dad was doing as he knew he had been unwell, he had a real soft spot for him, and I know the feeling was very mutual. To me, John was a very caring, loving and fun man, it was very clear he deeply loved his family and extended family in the BMX scene. I'll miss his smiling face and the twinkle in his eye, it always lit up whenever he got to see old faces! Rest in peace John. Caroline Enger xx
